Rotarian Betty Kaweesa
Member - Board of Directors
Betty Kaweesa is a member of the Rotary Club of Nsambya (District 9214, Zone 22) in Africa and was President from 2023–2024 (“Rotary Hope Creator Year”). Betty is a dedicated educator, counselor, social worker, and humanitarian with over 30 years experience in teaching and community service. As a teacher, she specializes in counseling and supporting children with special needs.
Betty serves in a school that hosts one of the largest refugee populations in the region, reflecting her lifelong commitment to serving vulnerable and underserved communities. Her school has received international recognition, including visits from former British Prime Minister Gordon Brown and the United Nations Secretary-General.
As an active Rotarian with the Rotary Club of Nsambya, Betty has devoted herself to impactful community service initiatives focused on uplifting vulnerable families and children. During her tenure as Past President in the Rotary Hope Creator Year 2023–2024, she championed projects that created meaningful change within local communities.
In 2025, Betty was honored to join the Melissa Prandi Children Foundation (MPCF) Family as a Board Member. Through this role, she has participated in numerous humanitarian projects, including:
Distribution of reusable hygiene kits
Sponsorship and support of village communities
Community outreach and service visits
Collaboration with the “Service and Safari for the Soul” team from the USA during their mission trips serving local communities
Above all, Betty is passionate about giving back through education, counseling, and humanitarian service. She continues to dedicate her life to empowering children, supporting vulnerable communities, and living out Rotary’s motto of “Service Above Self.”
