In Their Own Words

Angella

1st graduate from University

“I am so proud to be the First Graduate from Makerere University sponsored by Rotarian Melissa Prandi who was sponsoring me prior to the Melissa Prandi Children Foundation inception.

I was also the very first student sponsored by Melissa before she had founded The MPCF.

I am a biotechnologist by profession and currently working with a manufacturing company here in Uganda as the Quality Control and Assurance Officer.

I am the Charter President of the Rotaract club of High Achievers Kabalagala.  I love giving back to my community in any way that I can, creating a smile on people’s faces.

When COVID hit and things were really bad for us here, even though Melissa was unable to visit, she began sending funds for food and tuition. But I didn’t keep the money for myself, instead I began feeding the people in my village and beyond.

I’m proud to be part of The MPCF and grateful to my mum and sponsor Rotarian Melissa Prandi and all partners of the foundation.”

Evelyn “Martha”

Martha is our 2nd young adult to graduate from university.

“ I graduated with a bachelor’s in business administration specialized in banking, insurance and finance at Nkumba University under The Melissa Prandi Children Foundation. I give great thanks to Rotarian Helen Abe my sponsor mum.

I am currently the treasurer of the brand new Rotaract club of Kabalagala High Achievers and a charter member.

I am passionate about fashion, design, and beauty. I am also passionate about children and women empowerment. Helping single mothers and orphans or vulnerable children is my lifetime goal. That is why am overjoyed to be part of The Rotaract Club and The Melissa Prandi Children Foundation.

I love happy people and a happy environment.”

Jamal

The 3rd University Graduate

“I have been a student of The Melissa Prandi Children Foundation for the past two years where I have completed my diploma in Clinical Medicine and Community Health from Clarke International University located in the Muyenga-Bukasa in the City of Kampala.

With the help of The MPCF,  I have been sponsored by Mum Rotarian Melissa Prandi, the Founder of the Foundation.

During my time in the University, I have gained various skills such as communication and leadership skills. As a part of the Rotaract club of the University, I have been serving as the Young Man Ambassador for the TGUP projects. I have also gained various medical skills as a clinician. I am so delighted and joyous as I am graduating on March 16, 2024 all through The MPCF support by mum Melissa.

I am also joining The Rotaract Club of Kabalagala High Achievers, the club that was started by most of the university students under The MPCF and can’t wait to get involved in various activities of the club.

My special thanks goes to Mummy Melissa Prandi, the founder of The Melissa Prandi Children Foundation for having a heart that serves humanity and cares about others.”

“ I am proud Ugandan woman and third-year student pursuing a bachelor’s degree in business administration at Makerere University Business School and completed my studies in 2024.

To my lovely mum Melissa, I also humbly thank you for your kind heart. If it were not for your energy and efforts I would not be where I am now.
