Uganda Service and Safari is an Experience of a Lifetime
Women Empowerment Microloans

Visitors have the opportunity to meet the women recipients of the female empowerment microloans. Their businesses include mushroom farming, chicken rearing, duck farming, baking, handicraft making, soap making, weaving and other cultural crafts. The visit to their businesses includes a walk through the villages. Trip participants also have the chance to speak with the women groups and purchase products that they make which help support their families. Nearly all microloan participants are single mothers. Did you know all of our microloans to date are paid in full? Many groups have received loans multiple times due to their business successes.
Janan Schools Kabalagala and Bombo Campuses

Our service and safari trip includes a visit to both Janan School campuses. Visitors connect with children from preschool through high school. Students enjoy tennis, swimming, basketball, computer lab and vocational training in addition to their studies. They are always happy to greet visitors from the US, often performing dance, music or other displays of special talents.
St Mark Schools

One of our partner schools is located in an area in rural Uganda, called Kayunga. Most of the students who attend this school come from families who are farmers and make their living off the land. This rarely affords an opportunity for a quality education. At St Mark School they receive the invaluable gift of a quality education shaping their future powerfully. Did you know that most girls in rural Uganda are married off by their parents by the age of 12? Education permanently changes this almost certain future.

Hygiene Kits Distribution

Since our inception, Hygiene Kits have been a passion project of the Melissa Prandi Children Foundation. Our hygiene kits that we produce in addition to addition and training provided to young women across the country is a part of this program. Visitors have the opportunity to distribute our washable and reusable hygiene kits at several different kinds of schools in Uganda. This education in addition to the distribution is crucial to keeping girls in school, ending period poverty. Did you know (unisef) 75% of girls drop our of school during their monthly cycle due to lack of access to period products, stigma and lack of education about their bodies?

Heart of Dance Performances

The Heart of Dance Center in the village of Kampalagala serves as the true heart of the community for many of the children and their families in that village. Service and Safari for the Soul visitors have the chance to see the children from the community perform traditional Ugandan dance. Their might even be a dance-off competition between the locals and visitors! MPCF provided drums, uniforms and other necessary equipment that helped this community thrive. Did you know that drumming is an essential part of the Ugandan musical culture? Visitors distribute clothing and shoes to help serve those in the community who need it most.
Sponsor A Village

MPCF’s latest program “Sponsor a Village” combines all of our core programs plus clean water and latrines to villages with an overarching large need. Visitors get to see our three completed villages and are treated to musical performances, songs and meet residents of all ages, especially children.
