Leigh Bakhtiari

Ambassador to MPCF

Leigh Bakhtiari is a lifelong Marin County resident, business owner, and community advocate dedicated to strengthening families and communities. She is the co-owner of City Carpets, a family-owned flooring company in San Rafael that she and her husband, Hossein, established in 1993.

Beyond her professional career, Leigh has devoted significant time to community service through local nonprofits, civic organizations, and charitable initiatives. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for Adopt A Family and has held leadership roles with the San Rafael Chamber of Commerce, where she served as Vice-Chair of Economic Sustainability. She is also involved with the Green Business Committee, East San Rafael Working Group, and other community-focused initiatives.

Leigh is passionate about supporting children and families both locally and globally. Since 2024, she has sponsored a student through The Melissa Prandi Children Foundation and, in 2025, joined our annual Service and Safari for the Soul trip to Uganda to witness firsthand the Foundation’s work supporting education and opportunity for vulnerable children. The experience deepened her commitment to helping create pathways for families and young people to thrive.

Leigh believes that strong communities are built through compassion, collaboration, and service. When she is not working or volunteering, she enjoys spending time with her family, including her five grown children, two grandchildren, and her beloved Pyrenees mix, Casper.
